For ‘Start with The Boys’ for Vogue Empower, Madhuri Dixit looked lovely wearing a handwoven linen saree from Anavila Misra’s Winter 2014 collection.

It’s my favourite fall trend and personally, no matter what my mood, fringe is an embellishment that helps me express it. If you’re a beginner, we’ve highlighted a few styles on how to rock fringed pieces this season.

1. Add A Dash Of Fringe!

If you are a first timer, I suggest you start with accessories that are small. Take inspiration from Deepika Padukone’s boho-cool ensemble, even a fringed hobo bag can have a major impact on your whole outfit.

2. Opt For A Fringed Top.

Looking for the most accessible way to get in on the trend? I suggest, get yourself a fringed slouchy poncho jacket. Although you might hardly even notice the tassels, you’ll ultimately get the wow factor.

Get inspired by Kim Kardashian, and pick up a fringed skirt, or a dress with a fringe bottom, and make it the statement piece of your outfit. Keep the rest of your look sophisticated and understated, letting the fringe do the talking.

Here’s what you need to remember:

1. If it’s cold enough for you to put on warm tasseled boots, it’s cold enough for you to put on pants – a mini dress does not work what-so-ever.

2. Don’t go OTT channeling a 1970’s bohemian spirit. Keep your accessories minimal with beaded belts and necklaces.

3. Although fringe looks particularly modern and can be mixed with your everyday separates for an instant update, mix and match carefully. Don’t make it a case of ‘The piece that ruined the outfit’.

If you are absolutely in love with the trend, you should know fringing comes in all lengths and styles, so whether you go short and subtle or long and eccentric, there are plenty of ways to make this flexible trend work for your fashion persona.

Fashion model and BandraRoad Girl, Erika Packard is our home girl. Her spunky personality is what makes her one of the coolest chicks in the industry. In the picture below, she posed in a tie-dye shirt (sourced by us) with a basic tee and ripped denims. As for any regular at fashion week, comfort is of prime importance to Erika and she chose to complete her look with a pair of trainers.

Another fellow BandraRoad Girl, makes the list and we just can’t help it! Mariia Cherniakovych is one of India’s top models and is known to rock diverse looks as if it was second skin to her. In this picture, she shows you her androgynous side in a leather biker jacket, a crisp white shirt, a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and boots. We love the element of her hand bag. It added a slightly feminine touch to her look that was still pretty bad-ass because of the biker chain-like strap.

We can safely say that fashion model, Adhiraj Chakraborty is one of the most well-dressed men at fashion week. No fuss and no frills, Chakraborty’s style may seem thought-out but he carries it off with an effortless sense of ease. His layered look comprised of different street elements like the striped jumper with a cool jacket accessorized with a backpack, sneakers and shades.

Fashion week can get pretty stressful, especially if you plan to stay committed to the long hours of watching all shows and running around the venue making notes on the season’s hottest trends. Fashion stylist, Nirali Mehta‘s day-chic and super comfortable look in her Moroccan themed Payal Singhal kurta caught our attention. She teamed her look with the classic black leggings and accessorized it with a tote and statement neck-piece. Trés chic!

We, the fashion & beauty team at MissMalini HQ’s, will never be satisfied with our closets. We’re always looking for more: new trends, designer clothes, street style, and ethnic-wear! But we know what an investment building a closet like Carrie Bradshaw’s can be and when the clothes catch stains = I could cry. But stains and spill are kind of inevitable when you’re attending launches so often. Sometimes it’s wine and other times it’s finger food. So, we’re showing you the best hacks to stain removal, so you never have to get rid of another piece of clothing just because you think it’s ruined.

1) Grease/Oil

Firstly, don’t start out by putting water on this stain. Oil repels water. Instead, the first thing you need to do is use an absorbent paper towel or tissue to soak as much oil as possible. Then, use baby powder because it’s a miracle product! Pour some onto the stain and leave overnight. The next day, if the stain is gone, launder as usual.

2) Red Wine

The secret ingredient: white wine! Who would’ve known? Pour some over the red wine stain before washing as usual.

3) Food & Drinks

Make a solution of 1 part water to 3 parts white vinegar and soak the clothes overnight. Wash as usual the next day.

4) Makeup

This depends on what exactly caused the stain. If it’s an oil-based product, like some foundations/mascara/lipstick, then remember not to apply water. So, just dab very lightly, using tissue paper, without making it worse. For other makeup stains, rinse in cold water.  Spray some hairspray onto oil-based stains, wait for 10 minutes, and then dab with a wet cloth before putting it for a wash. For other makeup stains, use shampoo to wash the spot before washing normally.

5) Dirt

Flush out the stain with cold water, then put in warm water and wash with shampoo and a sponge. For leather-based garments, use scotch tape on the area and keep pulling off till the dirt is gone.

6) Blood

Yes, we went there. Soak the stain in cold water right away and then empty cola into your regular load of laundry along with detergent and let it work it’s magic.

Try and stick to colors that don’t contrast too much from your bottom, this makes the height more obvious. And wearing shirts with sleeves that are too long is a big no!

Fawad Khan and Sonam Kapoor

Let me get this off my chest first: I was too busy with my day job when the Khoobsurat promotions were on, so I couldn’t gush over compliment Fawad Khan’s smashing sartorial run on these pages — each and every one of the looks was done to perfection. In other words, he really laid down the gauntlet for all Bollywood men then, and on Sunday night, at the 2014 HELLO! Hall of Fame Awards, he simply restated it.

Clad in a black double-breasted Dior Homme suit, generously starched white shirt, black slim Burberry London tie, white pocket square crisply done in a Presidential fold and shiny black brogues, he cut an impossibly sharp figure that night.

The dress code for the event was black and white and I loved how he played around with the restrictive theme to bring some visual intrigue to his look. Instead of going for a solid black tie, he opted for one with a tonal check design from Burberry London. In place of plain patent leather Oxfords, he stepped out in brogues. And of course, special mention for the fit of his suit: no extra fabric flapping about his ankles and we can see half an inch of his shirt cuffs. Monsieur Khan, my hat is well and truly off (and for that, major credit goes to Abhilasha Devnani, I guess).

PS: On any other day, Abhishek Bachchan would have been my pick for the best dressed of the night with this get-up — heck, he even threw in a boutonnière!
