By now Shaleena Nathani is a name that could carry as much prominence as Deepika Padukone‘s. We love how she styles Deepika but we also love to see how she styles herself just a tad bit more. A stylist whose passion is fashion always comes through in any and everything they do. And when Shaleena partnered up with H&M for their #HMConsciousExclusive feature, she brought some basic and kickass style to the table.
Here, she’s paired an organic stripe cotton shirt with khaki trousers, that makes a perfect combination for the hot summer days ahead of us. Since the shirt seemed a bit oversized, we love how she tucked in one fold leaving the outfit looking minimal yet very trendy.
P.S – Shaleena’s styled Deepika in a similar style shirt as well.

Kim Kardashian West is bringing the lip ring back! It’s subtle yet sexy and you can rock any look with it, as Kim shows us by donning it with a gown at a recent event. She also made her comeback to social media with a lip ring. That definitely tells us that it’s going to be a trending topic for a while now. We have seen many celebs rocking this trend before. Here are some of them showing us how to wear it:
Beauty bloggers are definitely taking inspiration from this and a new trend of fake lip ring has emerged. This is so easy to recreate and perfect for the ongoing Coachella fever. Here are some inspos for you:
You know the feeling when you impulsively buy a skirt but later feel it wasn’t meant for you? Well, don’t worry you are not alone. Maybe that’s why picking out a pair of jeans over skirt is a safer bet.
From minis to maxis and from A-lines to pencils, there are so many varieties of skirts that are available. They vary in lengths and styles and spoil us with endless choices. Here’s getting you one step closer to that perfect skirt for your body type.
Apple Shape: You have leaner limbs, but most of the weight is in the central area of your body. The trick is to accentuate the limbs and the natural waistline.
Perfect Skirt: High-waisted, flouncy and short skirts do that for your body shape.
Reason: The flounce covers the area you want to hide, the high-waist will direct attention to the smallest part of your waist and the length shows off the legs.
Hourglass Shape: Your weight is almost equally distributed on top and below. You have strong shoulders, ample chest, slim waist and accentuated hips, butt and thighs. It’s the most flatterings shape of all.
Perfect Skirt: A pencil skirt accentuates your curves and tones the thighs. The knee-length or above length suits this body shape the best.
Reason: If you’ve got the envious curves, you have no reason not to flaunt them.
Rectangular Shape: Your chest, waist and hips are all about the same width. Your shape becomes your foundation, so you can build around it or add dimensions to it.
Perfect Skirt: You can keep the same shape going with straight mini skirts or you can create a shape by wearing an A-line skirt.
Reason: The rectangular shape is a really good shape to build a look on. Fear not, it’s the safest of all the shapes!

Sonam Kapoor touchdown Mumbai airport as she arrived back into B-town after collecting her National Award a few days ago. However, this airport spotting news isn’t going to be your regular one, we have news for all you fashionistas. ‘If you’re wondering where we got out fashionista genes from— We got it from out Momma’
This Mother’s Day, Team MissMalini got together to celebrate their uber cool mums and to prove that the fact that they are the true OGs. Here’s how girls at Team MissMalini have recreated their mother’s look in a very stylish way. Sometimes the words to express how much motherhood means to you can be hard to find, so we have found a cool way to honour our mothers on their day.
Take a look at their super cool mums and their daughters slaying it in style:
Deciding what to wear can take time, but finalising on a tattoo design might take even longer. Even a woman with great style needs inspiration. That is exactly why we’re here to help you provide some tattoo inspo for your next permanent one.
Here are a few for every kind of person and emotion:
While we love our flip flops for the comfort it provides but we gotta wear those high heels to be fashion appropriate when needed. But this time we are relieved that the season’s biggest footwear trend is also all about comfort. The sliders are as comfy as flip-flops and you can even wear them even when you have to go out. Infact these sliders are hard not to notice cause they detailed with studs, fur, bows and different sort of embellishments. We love them!
The comfort call of shorts makes it the number one summer essential in every girl’s wardrobe. No matter what your body type is, if you have found the perfect pair of shorts then there is no reason you can’t flaunt those gorgeous legs. The only thing coming between you and your shorts is the wait for your next salon appointment. But if you take our word for it, there’s no way you should waste a moment when you have the perfect razor ready in your vanity. Get lovely glowing legs and flaunt that perfect OOTD picture on Instagram wearing those lovely shorts. But the main question remains unanswered—how to select the perfect shorts? Fret not ladies! We have found a guideline that will help you pick out your shorts instantly no matter what your body type is:
Apple Shape
Legs are the assets of your body frame, as you tend to have leaner limbs and heavier central area. Shorts with a waistband just below your natural waist and that forms your booty, not only look good but added details like frayed hemline make them look easygoing too. This comfortable style will keep all the attention on the legs.
Ladies, you need not worry if you are slightly broader at the hips than your waist because those curves will be your assets. Go for a high-waist shorts in dark tone with a thick waistband and loose silhouette. The waistband draws attention to your natural waist and the loose silhouette flattens the curve.
Your waist is the smallest part of your body form, so make sure the waistband of the shorts falls there. Tuck in your top or add a belt to the ensemble to accentuate it. Have a silhouette that loosely fans out with your curve.
If you are petite, then the main aim is to elongate your legs. Shorter shorts do just that, especially when they have folded hem. Wear wedges or heels in a nude colour to add to the illusion of length.
Bermuda shorts are made for the girls with long and lean legs. Go for a form fitting style that tone your curves too. Balance the bottom with your top by styling the shorts with a tank top or a tee shirt.
Now that you have chosen the right shorts, the next step is to make the main feature stand out. Yes, ladies! We are talking about those sexy legs and how to prep them for your special shorts.
To wear them anytime, as mentioned earlier, we totally rely on shaving. Moisturizing and a monthly pedicure never hurt too! We are loving the Gillette Venus Breeze as it gives us one stroke smoothness and has specially formulated skin conditioning ingredients for an ultra-sensorial experience every time you shave. And can I just tell you my favourite part about it? You don’t need any cream or foam to shave! Yep, it comes with multi-gel bars which mean you have enough lather to just wet your body and shave over it. Because of these unique curve-hugging water activated glide gel bars, that also contain body butters, it provides an all-in-one shaving experience that helps retain skin moisture. So, a razor that moisturises is definitely the only thing you need to be shorts-ready with shiny smooth legs.
Yay! It’s officially the start of monsoon season, and we are so glad for the relief from the rising temperature. But with the romance of the rains there comes the problem of puddles. We are over the fascination in a day or two as we soon find ourselves braving against the challenges the monsoon season has to offer. Here are the essentials that we think will help you be fashionably rain-ready for the months ahead:
1. Umbrella
Rainy season and umbrella go hand in hand, so it is your key accessory. A utilitarian and fashionable one is the best way to go.
The next and the best shield from those heavy showers is a raincoat. Those colourful, PVC raincoats can be are available in wide varieties for you to chose from but there are high-end fashionable ones too.
For events, PVC sandals will be your best option, as they not only look beautiful but also ensure utility when you step out. But if you are looking for a bracing the harsh weather, we recommend gumboot to be your go-to. They are not only fashion forward but also protect your feet completely.
Think basics, like shorts, cropped trousers, cropped palazzos, blouses and tees. Synthetic pants might feel like a good idea but will stick to your body. Even dresses tend to do that when they get wet. So, basics are your bae this season.
5. Bag
A waterproof bag is a must because that is a holdall of all your stuff and a cool shape never just adds to your style.
Of course, you don’t want your makeup smudged all over after just facing a storm, and no makeup can’t be the only option. There are waterproof makeup products like mascara and eyeliner to the rescue.
Don’t we all dream of having Carrie Bradshaw‘s shoe closet at our disposal? How cool would that be? We would willingly wear our high heels and do our errands looking like a glossy-page model. Back to reality, it doesn’t seem possible. If you are reading this, you know that the recovery from a day (or tbh even an hour) in heels can be gruesome. Toe-biting, skin peeling, ankle-throbbing gruesome! But for all the shoe lovers out there we did find out some ways to make your time in heels as painless as possible.
While on a shopping spree, head to shoe stores last. With the running around from one shop to another, your feet will be a bit swollen. If you try on heels then, you would know that if they hurt you while the test trial, then they would definitely hurt you later. Also, don’t risk the fit, as in, don’t buy a loose, sloppy pair of heels, even if they are a tempting pair.
We all know that practising to walk in your heels before taking them out for the evening is a must. But you can do this exercise with your socks on. The socks expand the shoes giving your skin some breathing space the next time you wear them without the socks.
High heels are already intimidating, and if they have smooth, slippery soles, then it adds to the difficulty level. Practising in such heels might not wear the soles out. Also, you wouldn’t want to wear them on the rough grounds as they are new. In such a tricky situation, you can rough up the soles gently with sandpaper. Soles with some grip will help you walk properly.
If you have sensitive skin as I do, then you know how easy it is to get blisters. You might want to prep your heels in the areas where you know they might hurt your feet the most. A night before, put vaseline or coconut oil to the make the material in those areas soft so the heels won’t bite.
Bra Shopping Mistakes | Image source: Shutterstock
It’s not all numbers and letters when it comes to bra shopping. This is something you wear every day and so finding the right one according to your body becomes essential. We agree that perfect bra might be just a dream. But if you are feeling caged or unsupported by your underwear, then these are the things you might not be paying attention to:
1. Fit of the bra
While trying on the bras, do you use the tightest hook to see the fit? It’s advisable to try on the loosest clasp as our bra bands tend to stretch after regular use, and that’s when the tightest clasp actually comes into use. Also, if while trying on the bra you can comfortably fit two fingers underneath the band, that means you need to shift to a smaller size. Similarly, a bra that is too tight is also not your size. Even the straps need to be comfortable, not too loose or tight.
2. The cup size
The telltale signs of buying a wrong cup size are spillage and bulges on the sides. It means the cup is smaller than required. Whereas, if the cups don’t support your breasts and they tend to move, then the size is larger than you require. Wear a tee while you are trying out the bra and see if you get a seamless finish.
3. Buying the same bra size
Your body changes due to many factors like age, hormones, diet, lifestyle, etc. So, your bra size adjusts accordingly. Hence, if you start feeling uncomfortable in your current bra size, it might be time to change the size. A regular check on this will keep discomfort away.
4. Width of the straps and the band
Choose the width of the straps and the band according to your comfort level. If your breasts need the support then go for a thicker width band and straps.
5. Different situations require different bras
Apart from your regular bras, there are so many types of bras that will allow you to try out different trends. Seamless, backless, halter neck, strapless, maternity, sports and other such options are now widely available.
6. Buying interval
Don’t expect that the thing you use regularly will last as long as a year. Though their longevity depends on your rotation cycle, bras do tend to lose their shape after a while. Make sure you buy new ones regularly and not carry on with something that won’t do its job.
Hope these basic tips will help you out the next time you go for bra shopping! If you have any other info or suggestion then do let us know in the comments below.
Woohoo, it’s my favourite time of the year, the monsoons are over, Christmas and New Years eve is getting close, the bars and nightclubs are getting packed again, and there’s a buzz in the air – it’s Party Season!
So if ever there was a time to get your wardrobe geared for some major slick up, it’s now!!
And so we worked hard to made it easy for you! We’ve put together four looks, from The Maroon Suit (TMS), by Chandan Gandhi, curated to make heads turn as you make an entrance into any party, AND, we got India’s first super club, The Playboy Club, Mumbai, to open up their doors and turn on their million lights for us, just so you could feel the vibe!
Let’s get this party started!
1. The tone-on-tone one button suit!
Single breasted, one button, shawl lapel, blue self textured suit with navy blue detailing
This is for perfect for a party at night where the dress code says formal. I must caution you on two things though:
a) The right pairing of the same tones. Not all shades of colour looks good on all skin tones so make sure you pick a color that works for you. Detailing has to be subtle and not over the top, or you end up looking like Govinda in the 90s.
b) Picking the right shades for the right occasion. Some shades are appropriate for any event or occasion, and some shades might only work in certain cases. (I’ll do a blog on suit shades soon.)
2. The classic velvet dinner jacket
Single breasted, one button, notch lapel jacket in black velvet, in a floral self design embossed fabric.
Velvet jackets made a resurgence not too long ago, and as much as I love it, I wouldn’t say it’s a staple in your wardrobe. As far as trends go, velvet jackets have come in and gone out numerous times in its various avatars, as smoking jackets in private Gentleman Only clubs, red carpet favourites for movie icons & rockstars, and of course, Hugh Hefner (God rest his soul) . But as long as its here now, I say let’s play with it!
If you’re going to invest in your first velvet jacket, it’s best (and safest) to adopt one in dark hues of black or deep blues. I’m also partial to dark green and maroon, and if you’d like to stand out a little more, maybe one that has a subtle texture, or in an embossed fabric. In all of these cases, it’s best to have the trousers underplayed, best done in basic black!
And gentlemen, I cannot emphasize enough about the fit, which btw, is the second thing people notice the minute they see you, after the colour of your jacket!
3. Quirky slick
Asymmetric, bottle green velvet jacket with zipper detailing
A little quirk never killed nobody! I like the asymmetric shape of this jacket, and the fact that it has a zipper detail which doubles as a detachable element, makes it super cool. And to top it off, the bottle green shade plays with the lighting in the room, noticeable at times, and blending into the night at other!
Experiment with cuts, colours and prints gentlemen, live on the edge!
No one says it has to be dressy! If you’re the kind of guy that likes a more chilled out vibe about him when you go out partying, you wanna try this! The quilted bomber makes this whole look cool and edgy, and the tie adds the semi formal touch to the ensemble. The skinny jeans and sneakers hold the look pretty well together, and what enhances it all, is the colour palette. Nothing better than this to go clubbing in!
But I must say, you have to pick the right kind of bomber or jacket to make this work. A bulky leather bomber will probably not give you the same effect, and neither will a light or tan coloured one!
And there you have it gentlemen, go forth and Own The Night!!!
All jackets are The Maroon Suit originals.

By this time most of our resolutions have petered out to just a few that we can keep up with. So, it’s a good time to make up for them with fashion resolutions that you can ease into your daily routine seamlessly. Right? So, here you go, pick the ones that will help you enhance your personal style the most.

It might seem like a no-brainer, but we can’t stress how important it is to stock your wardrobe with key essentials. A white shirt, denim jeans that fit you right, a pair of tailored trousers, a tank top, comfy flats and stylish heels, to name a few, are elements that make a good OOTD.

3. Plan Your Outfit The Night Before
In the social media world where OOTDs are trending and our Instagram is focused on a theme, it becomes a necessity to plan your outfits. Even if that’s not true for you, planning your ensemble a night prior sets your day off on a good note. It’s one less thing you won’t have to worry about when you’re racing to get to work.

4. Clean Out Your Closet
We admit it’s hard letting go of things. Get the ideas like ‘I might wear this top for…’ or ‘This trend is gonna come back for sure’ out of your head. Instead, if you haven’t worn an item in last one year, then let go, donate or recycle your clothes. The perks are, you’ll make room in your closet for new clothes. Now, this takes us to the next resolution.

5. Pledge To Stay Organised
It’s not just about an organised closet but organised shopping! A well-maintained wardrobe is easier to navigate and will help you achieve resolution No. 3.
Give yourself targets when shopping and stick to it. Then create a list of needs and wants and set a budget. Purchase only what you need first and then if you are under your budget, indulge in your want list.

6. Invest Wisely
Here, we are talking about the items that you can’t do without on day-to-day basis. Yes, we are talking about the utilitarian as well as stylish details of our outfits. A good, sturdy leather bag, a nice jacket, a watch, a good pair of regular shoes; all of these are something you wouldn’t want to hold back the bucks on.

7. Buy Lingerie That Makes You Feel Sexy
Buy sexy lingerie for no one to see but yourself. Also, good undergarments create a good base for outfits. So, it will make you feel not only sexy but also confident.

8. Find A Reliable Tailor
A well-fitted garment does wonders for your silhouette, but finding a reliable tailor isn’t easy. Don’t jump from one tailor to another at the first go. Experiment with a few silhouettes and then make your decision. When you find the one, never let go!

9. Avoid Fast Fashion
Most of us don’t really know what fast fashion is, but we are the major consumers of it. Fast fashion is when brands immediately adopt runway trends and produce them for the masses. It is quickly hampering not only the natural resources but also human resources on a larger scale. So, one of our resolutions is to not heavily depend on fast fashion brands. Instead, opt for brands that work towards sustainable fashion.

10. Develop Your Personal Style
Trying to figure out which peg you fit in? Well, experiment and try developing your personal style. Understand what you are comfortable with and observe what flatters you the most. Slowly and steadily, you’ll be on the right track.

Sexy Lingerie For Your Body Type | Image Source: www.shutterstock.com
Planning a romantic time with your special someone takes a lot of strategising. The occasion, place, time, set-up and mood, all need to be right. Of course, the first thing that comes to your mind is what to wear. A visual cue of you donning your best lingerie, looking confident and sexy does most of the trick. It’s not as easy as it sounds. To know the perfect fit, it’s always good to know what suits your body type. Here are a few tips to know before you set out to buy lingerie for the special day.
1. Apple Shape
Your body tends to have a heavier torso, but the trick is to add the illusion of length. The goal here is to enhance the assets; your breasts and thinner limbs. A deep V neckline of a bodysuit does that. Because you don’t really need a padded bra a bold, slightly underwired bra can be a good option. A V-cut underwear will show off the legs. A strappy baby doll with a V cut-out gives the same illusion.
